Commander, Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM), CG VADM ROBERT N PATRIMONIO, together with the Deputy Commander, CG COMMO TEOTIMO R BORJA JR and Acting Superintendent, Marine Environmental Protection Training Center (MEPTC), CG CAPT PATRICK G BABAG headed the convening ceremony of the Basic Marine Environmental Protection Orientation Course (BMEPOC) Class 10, 11,12 and 14 at PCG Gymnasium, Coast Guard Base Farola, on 23 June 2023.
Moreover, CG CAPT PATRICK G BABAG will be the Course Director for Class 10, which is composed of 21 students and will be conducted at Headquarters MEPCOM, CG ENS JORDAN VERDIDA for class 11 and 12, composed of 51 students and will be conducted at MEPTC Annex Bataan at Sitio Malaking Bato, Abucay, Bataan, and CG CDR JONIE G BELARMINO for Class 14 composed of 24 students from Western Visayas is via online platform for a total of 96 officers and non-officers combined to take the BMEPOC.
The Basic Marine Environmental Protection Orientation Course serves the purpose of providing essential training and knowledge on protecting the marine environment. It aims to educate the students on the Marine Environmental Protection principles and doctrines to ensure the effectiveness and competency in their future undertaking in performing the MEP duties and responsibilities.
