The Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) participated in the coastal clean-up activity at Manila Bay, Dolomite Beach, as part of the celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day 2023 on 16 September 2023.
Marine Science Investigation Force Commander, CG COMMO EDUARDO P DE LUNA JR headed the said activity.
He noted that even though it is not International Coastal Clean-up Day, the PCG is quite active in engaging in these events. He added that this project plays an essential role to the PCG’s objectives in protecting our marine environment.
International Coastal Cleanup Day, celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September, is a global movement that serves as a vital platform to raise awareness about the escalating waste issues threatening our coastlines and oceans. This initiative unites people worldwide in their commitment to combat marine pollution and safeguard our precious coastal ecosystems.
