𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) conducted the five (5) day Water Safety, Rescue and Survival Techniques (WASAR) Training Class 02-2023 composed of forty-four (44) female personnel in collaboration with Special Operations Group NCR-CL and Coast Guard Medical Service NCR-CL at Cunanan Wharf on 25 to 29 October 2023.
The students underwent comprehensive training that included introduction in basic life support, first aid, rescue and life-saving techniques, underwater skills such as underwater knot tying, water entries and exits, boat handling and concluded with a one (1) mile swim.
This training aims to enhance the capabilities of MEPCOM Personnel in performing maritime search and rescue operations which is a fundamental responsibility of the Philippine Coast Guard.
