Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) celebrates its 25th Founding Anniversary together with the Commandant Philippine Coast Guard CG VADM ARTEMIO M ABU as the Guest of Honor and speaker Mr. Jeremy R Barns, Director-General, National Museum of the Philippines on 14 June 2023 at the Auditorium, National Museum of the Philippines โ Fine Arts Building.
One of the eventsโ highlights was the presentation of the Commanderโs Report from 31 May 2022 to 30 May 2023 which features the accomplishment and achievement of the Commandโs mandated functions, proudly presented by CG VADM ROBERT N PATRIMONIO to CG ADM ARTEMIO M ABU.
Also presented during the anniversary are the awards to Marine Environmental Protection or MEP personnel, Non-Uniformed Personnel of the Year, MEPForce of the Year, MEP Unitsโ Plaque of Recognition, and KAPAKANAN AWARDโ for stakeholders and PCG Auxiliary.
Moreover, awarding of Marine Environmental Protection or MEP Eligibility Badge and Marine Science Technician or MST Badge was awarded to CG ADM ARTEMIO M ABU in recognition for his invaluable service as the former Commander of MEPCOM.
In addition, the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between National Museum of the Philippines and Philippine Coast Guard was also conducted during the Anniversary.
Lastly, the event ended with the presentation of Lapu-Lapu miniature given by the Commandant PCG to Director, Jeremy Barns as a token of appreciation for generously providing the venue of MEPCOM Anniversary, which was also returned by the Director NMP with an equally valuable token in the form of printed publication from the National Museum of the Philippines.
