24-25 March 2022 – Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) held a two (2) day MEPFORCE Assessment Conference as a major part of the 1st MEPCOM Summit 2022 held at PCG Gymnasium, Coast Guard Base Farola, Binondo, Manila.
CG VADM ROLANDO LIZOR N PUNZALAN JR, Commander, Marine Environmental Protection Command presided over the event attended by MEP Staff and MEPFORCE Commanders. The said summit covered the assessment of MEPFORCE’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), accomplishment and performance about MEP existing Memorandum Circulars (MC) and Standing Operation Procedures (SOP) and other matters relating to MEP functions and mandates.
The summit’s final agenda was the revision of the Prompt Reporting System policy for maritime land-based incidents that may lead to major marine pollution under Philippine maritime jurisdiction. MEPFORCE Commanders were then honored for their unwavering efforts and invaluable achievements in completing their prescribed tasks in a timely and effective manner.
The summit aims to determine the responsiveness and efficiency of the implemented MEPCOM Systems and Policies, as well as analyze the accomplishments, effectiveness, and progress on KPIs of the MEP Force Units.
