Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) held a kick-off ceremony for the National Women’s Month 2023 on Wednesday, 08 March 2023, aboard PCG Gymnasium, Coast Guard Base Farola, Binondo, Manila with this year’s theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”. The kick-off ceremony also coincided with the International Women’s Day 2023 celebrated across the globe.
CG CAPT RICHARD Q PARAGAS, Chief of MEP Staff, presided over the opening ceremony together with CG CDR GRACE I CAMPOS, MEPCOM Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person.
As part of the activity, medical specialists for health and wellness were invited to educate our empowered modern women of the Philippine Coast Guard. CG AUX RADM RODRIGO C ONG, Chief Science Research Specialist from Philippine Institute for Traditional Alternative Health Care and DR ALFONSO LAGAYA, Medical Specialist III from Quirino Medical Center, talked about Oriental Wellness Lifestyle for Beauty, Rejuvenation, Sexual Health, and Traditional Chinese Medicine using acupoints.
MEPCOM together with the GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE value the men and women of this Command to attain a healthy well-being.
