In line with the celebration of the 24th Founding Anniversary, the Marine Environmental Protection Command conducted a Bloodletting Activity together with the Philippine Red Cross, National Blood Center-Manila last 16 June 2022 at the PCG Gymnasium, Coast Guard Base Farola, Muelle dela Industria Farola, Binondo, Manila.
The program was headed by the Deputy Commander, Marine Environmental Protection Command, CG COMMO ARTURO HOSTILLO E CORNELIO and Edmundo Marra, M.D., the team leader of Philippine Red Cross, National Blood Center-Manila. A total of 101 bags were donated by the MEPCOM personnel and PCG personnel from other tenant units of the Coast Guard Base Farola.
The month of July is also celebrated as Blood Donors Month in the Philippines and with this, the Marine Environmental Protection Command can help the community when there is a need of blood and blood products during emergencies and other operations that require blood transfusion.
