Twenty-one (21) personnel of the Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) underwent a series of trainings on the ISO Quality Management System conducted by Ms Mary Glory Caunin of JBDC Occupational Health Safety and Environment Consultancy last 05-08, 14-16 September 2022 aboard Headquarters, Marine Environmental Protection Command, Coast Guard Base Farola.
This series of training covered discussions on Awareness Training, Quality Management Systems, Risk Assessment and Control and Internal Quality Audit. This training aims to equip the MEPCOM personnel with knowledge of the quality management systems implemented by the ISO 9001 standard and will train the personnel as internal auditors and document controllers.
As a background, the Marine Environmental Protection Command was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 last 31 December 2021 by the SOCOTEC. This certification is a standard that sets out the requirements for Quality Management Systems which ensures the organizationโs efficiency in consistently providing products and services that meet costumer and regulatory requirements and to demonstrate continuous improvement. Quality management systems are the foundation of quality assurance and activities. With the application of the ISO 9001:2015 standard the Marine Environmental Protection Command can satisfactorily provide the stakeholders and other concerned offices with quality service.
The training concluded with CG RADM ROBERT N PATRIMONIO awarding a certificate of appreciation to Miss Caunin as the resource speaker for the whole duration of the training.
