The Deputy Commander, Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM), CG COMMO TEOTIMO R BORJA JR presided the TURNOVER CEREMONY of the Marine Environmental Protection Training Institute (MEPTI), Marine Environmental Protection Force’s (MEPFORCE) National Capital Region-Central Luzon (NCR-CL) and Southern Tagalog (STL) at Headquarters, MEPCOM, Coast Guard Base Farola, Binondo, Manila, last Tuesday, 30 May 2023.

CG LTJG GERALD L CORDERO turned over his duties and responsibilities as Superintendent, of MEPTI to the incoming Acting Superintendent, CG CAPT PATRICK G BABAG. Likewise, CG LTJG CORDERO assumed his new position as Commander, MEPFORCE NCR-CL receiving the helm from its outgoing Commander, CG LTSG PRECIOUS LONIE Z OMALSA, as the latter assumes position as the new Commander of MEPFORCE STL.

CG LTSG OMALSA and CG LTJG CORDERO received the award of COAST GUARD SUPERIOR ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL AND RIBBON for effectively leading MEPFORCE NCR-CL and MEPTI, while CG ENS JHEMMA V SOTELO received the award of CG MERIT MEDAL AND RIBBON for her outstanding and invaluable services rendered as the Commander, MEPFORCE-STL.

CG COMMO TEOTIMO R BORJA JR then commended all the main actors of the event and closed the ceremony with a phrase from Donald McGannon that “Leadership is not a title nor a position, it is an action and responsibility to influence people.”
